About Marian Lamoureux
Piano Teacher — Hinsdale, Illinois
Marian Lamoureux of Hinsdale has taught piano for more than four decades, working with both children and adults from her home studio. She trained at the University of Western Ontario, completing an Honors Bachelor of Music in Music Education and a Bachelor of Education, and earning scholarships to the university and to the Banff School of Fine Arts.
She taught in the Ontario school system for ten years while running a private studio and raising three children, then moved her family to Hinsdale, Illinois in 1999. Her students regularly perform in recitals and prepare for Royal Conservatory of Music examinations.
Outside of teaching, she divides her time between family, cooking, hiking, cycling, and time at a cottage in Canada. She also serves as financial manager for the theater company her daughter founded, which now operates a 200-seat venue.
